My blog has mainly been about makeup and skincare products so far but I’ve decided it’s time to bring in some fashion as it’s another love of mine!
I’m going to start off with some of my favourite autumn/winter trends that I and many others are loving already this year and some which are staples for every year.
First of all it’s all about the knee high and over the knee boots, I’ve got some waiting for me ready for my birthday in November and I cannot wait to start wearing them. Not only do they keep your legs warm and go great with skirts and dresses but they also add a bit of chic to your outfit like no other shoe can do. The ones I’m waiting for are from Garage Shoes but when it comes to this time of year all the shops have them in, you’ve just got to figure out which style you want to go for! For me I’ve picked some over the knee black flat boots with a cute tie at the back to keep them from falling down my leg.
Next up we have ribbed everything! From tops and jumpers to dresses and skirts, these have been in fashion for a long time now but for me the perfect time to wear them is when it comes to this season. They literally go with everything and I must have about 5 or 6 tops in my wardrobe now and a couple of dresses and skirts too. I’m pretty sure if you think of a colour, you can get a ribbed top in that colour if you start looking.
The Pinafore dress. These have recently come back into fashion in the last few years after first making an appearance in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. I personally love these, they’re so stylish and will go perfect with those long boots and ribbed tops! I have just picked mine up from New Look but they’re also available pretty much everywhere at the minute too, I know TopShop have some lovely ones. They’re also super comfy which is a must for me.
When it comes to my birthday I think my outfit of the month is going to be my pinafore dress, black ribbed top and black over the knee boots!
One thing that I think you’ll all agree with me on is that one of the best parts of the colder seasons is that the cosy jumpers are back in. There’s nothing better than being snuggled up in a cosy knitted jumper in the cold weather, whether you’re inside watching films under a blanket or your outside with your layers on trying to keep warm. They’re just the comfiest and the loveliest and go perfect with jeans and actually I think they make people happy. I definitely need to get a go-to grey thick cosy jumper this year, I already have my eye on one from New Look!
One thing I absolutely love about this season is that it’s perfectly acceptable to buy and wear burgundy and dark purple everything and considering these are my all time favourite colours I couldn’t be happier. From lipstick to pinafore dress to trainers, I will have it in these colours. I’ve already collected a ribbed turtle neck, ribbed dress, pinafore dress, ribbed top, some new balance trainers and a skirt and I don’t plan on stopping any time soon!
