The last couple of months I’ve bought a fair few new things to try from the beauty sections of drugstore and higher end beauty counters and have been putting them to the test. Some I love and some I don’t so I thought I would share with you what I’ve picked up and some mini reviews to go with them!
L’Oreal Lip Paint
The packaging of these Lip Paints from L’Oreal really caught my eye so I decided to pick one up and I got the shade 208 Off-White which I thought would be a great nude. Now first of all, I wasn’t sure on the colour as it looked a little lighter than expected when I applied it to my lips but once I’d worn it for an hour or two, I got used to it. But then we have the lasting power which totally disappointed me, they do not last on my lips. They also end up looking really weird on my lips and I just couldn’t get along with it. It’s one of those lipsticks that needs constant touch ups and when it comes to a liquid lipstick, that’s not what I’m looking for. So this one is a no from me.
Rimmel London Insta Fix & Go 2-in-1
I’ve been seeing this new range from Rimmel everywhere and it really got me interested to try a few bits myself. Just to start with I picked up the 2-in-1 primer and setting spray. I have to say so far I haven’t tried it as a primer, but as a setting spray I really like it. I got it for £4.98 in Savers rather than it’s usual price of £6.99 which I thought was a pretty good bargain. It smells soooo nice and completely like fresh watermelon which I absolutely love, the best scented setting spray I have ever used. The spray which comes out is so fine, it feels so refreshing on the skin and not like you could ever spray too much and your makeup be too wet and ruined.
Zoella Beauty Shower Shake
This is the first Zoella product I have ever tried and it was definitely the packaging that pulled me in. Come on, it’s SO cute. Lovely scented and creamy shower products are my fave so I was excited to try this out. It’s definitely not comparable to the ultimate shower gods from Lush, but for a shower cream from the drugstore, it ain’t half bad. I definitely want to try some more Zoella products! The only thing I would say is that for the price of £6, you don’t get much product for the amount you use to cover your whole body with a nice lather. I don’t think I would repurchase to be honest but I do want to try the shower sauce!
Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette
I have been lusting after this palette for the longest time. It is honestly beautiful in photographs but even they don’t do it justice. When I got this, I didn’t even know if I would suit peach eyeshadows, but once I applied them they were like my long lost best friends and I fell in love. I’m not going to go into too much detail as I have done a full review which you can find here, but you NEED this one.
Huda Beauty Nude Love Collection Lipstick Minis
I know I’ve already done a complete post on these but I thought I would include them anyway seen as they are new to my collection. They’re the nude lipstick lovers dream (as the name suggests) and I’m so pleased I got them. My first products from Huda Beauty and definitely not my last. I’ve been wearing these all the time lately and I just can’t get enough, especially of Sugar Mama and Crush which look so good when I’m wearing the Sweet Peach palette on my eyes. Check out my full review of these here.
Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette
Last but not least my amazing boyfriend just treated me to the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette and oh my god how pretty is it?! I am honestly in palette heaven with this and the Sweet Peach Palette right now. I’m definitely going to be doing a full review of this one too but I just had to include it. I feel like as we’re coming up to Autumn this is going to be perfect for a more autumnal look with its fiery warm tones.
So they’re the newest products in my beauty collection, what have you guys been picking up lately? Have you tried any of these?
