So I thought I would do something a little different for Halloween and just be a little creative, even if it might seem minimal and maybe a bit random. I don’t know about you, but I love unicorns, so what better thing to do than become one?
The inspiration came from receiving this Makeup Revolution palette in this months themed Glossybox (unboxing here) and then I saw this unicorn headband for £12 and I was like well obviously I need this, and I can be a not-so-spooky unicorn for Halloween, because why not? So then I needed to get me some glitter too and saw this gorgeous ‘unicorn dust’ glitter by Festival Face, which not only looked perfect but had the perfect name too! They also do face and body glue for the glitter so I picked some of that up to go with it. Then while I was at it, there was this gorgeous Makeup Geek single shadow in the shade Hot Pants which is a beautiful iridescent lilac shade (even though it looks a really dark pink in the pan) and there we have it, time to get to work.
I started out with my base using the Seventeen Stay Time foundation and concealer as they’re my current go to for coverage (a post will be coming soon) and I needed a good base. I then went in with the palette and filled in my eyebrows using the lilac shade all the way through and the darker pink shade from around the middle to ends just to make it a little darker. I did actually use the little sponge brush that you get in the palette which I normally avoid at all costs but it actually worked better than a good shadow brush to pack on the pigmentation to a small area seen as I was just filling them in.
Then I packed on the shade Hot Pants all over the lid and blended it out, the shade was so beautiful I didn’t even want to use anything after that but you know, unicorns need more colours so I forced myself! I then went in with the lilac shade again through the crease and then the light blue shade 3 in from the left and blended that out on the outer corner blending it slightly inwards. I then used Hot Pants and lilac on the lower lash line and added my Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara to my lashes.
I then decided it was time to start on my face. I basically used all the same shades along with the darker pink shade on my cheeks and also around the outside of my forehead. Then it was time for some GLITTER. I have literally never used this type of glitter on my face before so I was definitely excited and probably a little scared that I was going to completely mess everything else up. Luckily I didn’t though! I dabbed a little glue on my finger and then dabbed it above my cheek bones were I would usually apply highlighter, then added some glitter in those areas. Then I did the same in the centre of my lids and in the centre of my lower lash line and coming down a little and on my forehead.
Next up I used the shade Charmed by LA Splash on the lips and then used the Jouer Skinny Dip Lip Topper on top to add some sparkle. Finally I popped on my headband and was good to go. Ta-Dah I was now a sparkly pink and purple unicorn! Winning. The photo doesn’t show you my face makeup very well but ah well it’s better than nothing and I just wanted to give you a little idea.

So what do you think, have you been inspired to become a unicorn for fancy dress? It might be minimal but it’s super quick and easy and obviously fun too!
