So most of you will know if you read my Birthday Makeup Wishlist post that I was heading to Paris to celebrate mine and my boyfriend’s birthday along with our anniversary as they’re all within a few days of each other. We usually try to go away every year but until now I never knew that the places I have been had Sephoras so I’d never been to Sephora until now! So you can only imagine how excited I was (obviously about Paris as well), especially seen as I had pretty much just asked for money for my birthday so I could spend it in Paris (basically for Sephora). So let’s get into what I picked up!
Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick | €10.95 // £9.77
This was one of the products I was most excited about picking up, I’ve heard such good things about them and they’re pretty affordable and seen as you can’t get them anywhere else other than Sephora I knew I was going to pick up more than one, essentially all the ones I liked the look of. I ended up spending most of my time swatching these lipsticks as I wanted to make sure I got a few but making sure I definitely liked the shades. So I picked up 5 different shades which include (top to bottom in the above photo) 35 Bohemian Purple, 16 Cherry Nectar, 04 Endless Purple, 13 Marvellous Mauve and 06 Pink Soufflé. They’re so pretty and so far I love the formula of them too, I haven’t used them all yet so once I’ve used them all a bit more they will probably be featured on the blog in a little more detail. I wish I’d tried to find a couple more nude shades, but honestly I was boring myself with swatching them so much so I stuck with these 5.
Sephora Collection Face, Hair and Lip Masks | €3,95 or €2,95 // £3.52 or £2.63
Of course you can’t go to Sephora without picking up some of their Sephora Collection sheet masks! So I picked up 2 face masks, 1 lip mask and a hair mask. I ended up using the hair mask while I was there, so I went back to pick up another one (and a couple of other things) so I had one to bring home. In all honesty I don’t know why I didn’t get even more than these, they were so affordable but I just thought I was going over board by this point so I stupidly didn’t get any more. I’ve heard such good things about these so I can’t wait to try them. The face and hair masks were both €3,95 and the lip mask was €2,95. Once I’ve tried these I definitely think I will dedicate a blog post on them, I loved the hair mask I used while I was in Paris so I’m definitely excited to try the other ones.
Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette | €64.95 // £57.95
Only recently have I really started getting into Huda Beauty, her first palette the ‘Rose Gold Edition’ did catch my eye and I thought it looked stunning, but I heard mixed reviews and a lot of the shades I had in a few other palettes I already own (shock horror! This doesn’t usually stop me) but due to it being so expensive I have kept to my word and haven’t bought it. It also took me so long to finally try some of her liquid lipsticks which everyone raved about (I have the Love Nude Collection Minis – which you can read about here) due to them being on the more expensive side and I waited for some more nude minis to come out so I could try them to decide what I think for better value. When I saw this palette I fell in love though, it looks absolutely beautiful and the shades are so unique along with all the different textures too so I thought it would be a fab treat for my birthday. Just a few days before I got to Paris her new Obsessions palettes had been released which I loved the look of (particularly Mauve Obsessions and Smokey Obsessions) and I tried to get those but couldn’t find them except the odd one near the tills, along with the new Contour & Strobe Lip Sets, I could only find one and it wasn’t the one I would have picked with the other options so I left it. Since this trip though I spent the remainder of my birthday money and now own Mauve Obsessions from that and I’ve also picked up Warm Obsessions too. Huda is absolutely killing it and I am LOVING the look of all of her new releases. Anyway I am totally in love with this palette and the obsessions palettes which you may have heard if you read my last post Top 3 Beauty Brands of 2017
Huda Beauty Lip Strobe in Angelic | €19.95 // £17.80
Yep, I’m still not finished talking about Huda Beauty! Due to me not finding the right Contour & Lip Strobe set, I ended up caving and just buying this gorgeous lip strobe in the shade Angelic even though it’s quite pricey at £17, again it was with my birthday money so I didn’t care as much and my boyfriend kept enabling me too! These lip strobes are essentially a lip gloss that can be worn on it’s own or over another lipstick. The shade Angelic is described as a light peachy rosé shade with gold reflections, which I totally agree with, it’s so stunning. They’re really comfortable to wear and don’t feel sticky at all which is a big bonus for me. I’ve actually never worn a lipgloss so I definitely surprised myself with this purchase but it’s just so stunning I had to have it!
Marc Jacobs Air Blush in Kink & Kisses | €37 // £33.01
This was something I didn’t expect to pick up at all. It was actually Ryan who thought I should look at the Marc Jacob counter as I’d never tried any Marc Jacobs makeup before and he knows how much I love their fragrances. So I went over to the counter not expecting to even think about getting something as I didn’t really know much about any of it except it’s all pretty expensive, I mean this is now the most expensive blush I own! But I ended up swatching it, and we both thought it looked gorgeous and even the lady manning the counter said this particular blush in this shade is her complete best seller and she asked if I wanted to actually try it on my skin. I said no it was okay I was just looking, as I thought it was too expensive even though it was super pretty and I didn’t want to end up feeling pressured into buying it. So I went to look at other things but me and Ryan kept speaking about how nice it was and in the end he convinced me to buy it seen as it was for my birthday, so obviously that was it then, I just went and got it! It’s not like any of the other blushes I own and it’s definitely one the prettiest, it’s just so unique and it’s now a firm favourite, one of my top 3 in fact.
Fenty Beauty Cosmic Gloss Lip Glitter in Gal On The Moon | €17,95 // £16.01
Last but not least I ended up picking up one of the glosses from Rihanna’s new Galaxy Collection. Again, I wasn’t expecting whatsoever to get anything from Fenty but I just went over to check out the new collection (even though I’d seen it online) and these glosses caught my eye so I decided to swatch them. The funny thing is the gloss I actually fell in love with was Astro-Naughty but it turns out that the glosses must have been switched around on the stand and silly old me didn’t think to check the actual product for the shade name and just went by what it said on the stand! Silly old me also didn’t open the lipgloss until I got home and then was absolutely gutted when I realised I’d got the wrong shade! Either way I obviously couldn’t return it, and I thought about selling it but I didn’t really wanna sell a brand new lipgloss for less than the actual price and lose out on money, anyway Ryan reassured me that I’ll get Astro-naughty at some point so I went ahead and swatched Gal On The Moon it as I new I was keeping it, and actually it’s really pretty so hopefully now I’ll be able to have both! It was a shock to me as well as I said earlier that I don’t wear lipgloss and never have and now I go to Paris and come back with two?! And I’m going to end up with at least one more when I get Astro-Naughty? Crazy!
So that’s everything I picked up from Sephora whilst I was in Paris (which btw was amazing – read all about that here). I’m super happy with everything I got and surprisingly I even had a little bit of birthday money left over, which I have now spent too on some more gorgeous goodies from Charlotte Tilbury and as I mentioned earlier some even more Huda Beauty products. But I hope you enjoyed reading all about what I bought!
