Lately I’ve been finding myself feeling a little lost, de-motivated, uninspired and sometimes just a little bit down, all for different reasons. But I’ve also found a few things that have helped me feel better so I thought I would share them with you in case any of you are feeling the same and need a little nudge in the right direction.
First of all, a little obvious one but taking a bath really is a great way to relax and make you feel better, whether you have a nice lush bath bomb or just some £1 bottle of bubble bath it doesn’t matter, a good soak and chill out time to yourself really can help. In fact I’m actually loving the new Cherry Bakewell scent of bubble bath from Imperial Leather which is £1/£2 and a pretty shade of pink. If you’re not a bath person (which I’m not always), then a nice warm shower with your favourite shower products will do the trick too of course, helping you feel nice and clean and refreshed.
To tie in to the bath theme, I also like to put a face mask on before I get in the bath so while I’m laid there relaxing my skin is getting something out of it too, it also helps me to feel more fresh and clean for when I get out and its nice and easy to rinse off while you’re in the bath. A current favourite of mine is the Body Shop Japanese Matcha Tea Mask which smells so fresh and feels so calming on the skin.
Another thing that helps make me feel better is making my nails look good. Cutting, filing and painting them. Does anyone else just feel so much better with pretty nails? I think it just makes you feel more put together and maybe a little bit sassy, also fresh painted nails is definitely a new picture for the ‘gram too so..?
Venturing into a new world inside a book is another great way to take time away from everything and just relax and forget about things. I’ve been loving picking up some new books to read lately and Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine was a great read a couple of months ago which I highly recommend if you haven’t already picked it up. I literally read it within about 3 days because I just could not put it down, and that’s the kind of book I love. It just completely takes your mind off everything. But if you’re not into books then your favourite magazine will suffice, mine would of course be Blogosphere Magazine (which is a must subscription if you’re a blogger),or maybe just getting cosy in your pjs with your current favourite series or a good film or catching up with some of your favourite blogs.
One last thing would have to be just spending time with loved ones. It always makes me feel better, whether we have anything planned or if we’re just sat around chilling doing nothing in particular, time with them is priceless and precious and I can never get enough.
What are your favourite things to do when you’re not feeling yourself?
