Entering The World Of Liquid Eyeshadows

As you may have seen over on my Instagram I recently discovered some gorgeous liquid eyeshadows and let me tell you, I am in love. Liquid eyeshadows are so quick and easy to use for an effortlessly glam makeup look. So far I have two from Stila and two from Glossier which are so different but I love them all.

I have a Shimmer & Glow in the shade Cloud from Stila which is a gorgeous mix of purple and silver which looks different depending on how the light catches its beauty. I absolutely adore this shade and I think it’s my favourite out of all four. With this one I like to apply a transition shade through the crease and lower lash line and then follow this by applying a good amount of the liquid shadow on to my lid. To finish off I either blend it out with my fingers or by using one of my slightly more dense eyeshadow brushes rather than a fluffy blending brush.

My other Stila liquid shadow is a Glitter & Glow in the shade Kitten Karma. I think this is definitely a favourite for many from the Glitter range and I can definitely see why. It’s a gorgeous golden coppery shade with hints of silver and what I like about it most is that even though its mainly glitter, it also has a golden base shade too so that it looks more opaque on the lid meaning it can be worn on its own or with a combination of eyeshadows to make your eyes pop! As it’s very glittery I recommend blending this one out with a brush for better control, especially if applying over/with other eyeshadows.

Now onto my two Glossier Lidstars in the shades Slip and Cub. Compared to the Stila shadows, these are a lot more subtle rather than being super pigmented, they’re like lightweight washes of colour that have a very pretty yet subtle shimmer to them too. With that in mind they’re also buildable if you wish which is always a bonus. Slip is a gorgeous baby pink with golden shimmer and Cub is a lovely rose gold shimmer. They look good on their own or paired together with slip on the inner corner working its way to the middle of the lid and cub from the middle working its way out.

Swatches L-R; Glossier Cub & Slip, Stila Cloud & Kitten Karma (you can’t really see the glitter from the photo)

I’m definitely loving the liquid eyeshadow makeup additions I have picked up recently and I think I will definitely be adding more Stila Shimmer & Glow’s to my collection. All of these shades will look so stunning in the sunlight this summer! Have you tried any liquid shadows yet or have any on your wishlist?

Ah I’ve seen those ones they look so pretty! I do like the Glossier ones but they do go a lot more sheer once you blend them out so you have to build them up. Stila are definitely my favourite xx

catch up by the look of it – these are beautiful. Love the sound of the Glossier!

    Fab post as always.

What a lovely post Ellie! I have a liquid eyeshadow from NYX that I’ve neglected for a while and you’ve inspired me to get it out and start using it again! All of these are absolutely gorgeous, I’d love to treat myself to the Stila ones one day! Clare xx | https://www.clayaa.com

Aw thank you Clare! I still really need to try one from NYX I’ve heard they’re really good and they look so pretty. I picked my Stila ones up on Easter weekend when there was 20% off! They are quite expensive at full price although definitely worth it! xx
