I’ve really been getting back into taking care of my skin again after not really making much of an effort for a while as I pretty much gave up thinking nothing was working for me and I just had accept the fact my skin wasn’t my friend. But luckily now that has all changed thanks to a few great products, including some from the great Dermalogica skinfluencer programme which I’m so happy to be a part of along with a great new mindset! So I thought I would share with you some products which are now a definite staple in my evening skincare routine.
First of all lets talk about PreCleanse, a heavenly oil cleanser that smells of sherbet lemons. I always use micellar water to remove makeup first but we all know it doesn’t do the job. This oil cleanser however is perfect for melting away any left over products, dirt, pollutants and anything else you can think of that might be sitting on your skin after a long day. It feels really gentle and silky and does the perfect job whilst smelling good enough to eat. PreCleanse is formulated with conditioning Rice Bran and Vitamin E oils which offers deep cleansing for even the most oily skin. You apply it to your face while it’s still dry and then add water to emulsify followed by rinsing away. I actually used to think that oily skincare products were the opposite of what my oily skin needed but I was so wrong and they’re exactly what it needs! I’ve also used the PreCleanse without using micellar water first too and it does an amazing job of melting all of my makeup away.
Special Cleansing Gel
The next step in my Dermalogica cleansing routine is the Special Cleansing Gel, the soap-free foam cleanser. This contains naturally foaming Quillaja Sapanaria, calming Balm Mint and Lavender extracts which are all perfect for using every day without disturbing your skins natural moisture balance along with being nice and soothing. It foams away any toxins and debris leaving the skin super clean. The great thing about this cleanser and PreCleanse is that you only need the tiniest amounts to cover your whole face which means they’re gunna last a long time. Not only that but the double cleansing routine leaves your skin feeling so smooth and looking bright and super fresh, as well as super clean of course! It goes hand-in-hand with PreCleanse too as this one you use whilst your hands and face are already wet, so you can literally go straight in with this step, massage it into the skin followed by rinsing away.
Last but not least is the Daily Microfoliant. First of all I just have to say that I love uniqueness of this product. It comes in powder form and activates when you add a little water and rub your hands together, making a lovely exfoliating paste. It contains White Tea, Liquorice, Papain, Salicylic Acid and Rice Enzymes and is the perfect exfoliator to achieve smoother, brighter skin and even better it’s gentle enough to use everyday! You literally only need half a teaspoon of the powder to mix into a paste with very wet hands to cover your whole face. Just apply to your face in circular motions avoiding the eye area, followed by rinsing away and your good to go!
I’ve been using these products for a good few months now and now if I don’t start my skincare routine off with precleanse and the special cleansing gel, I never feel like my skin is clean and cleansed enough. Even though you can use the microfoliant every day if you wish I still tend to only use it a few times a week but that’s just my personal preference. All 3 of these products have done wonders for my skin from the get go and basically I’m head over heels for Dermalogica and I don’t see me looking back anytime soon! What’s even better is all 3 of these products are cruelty and gluten free, vegan friendly and contain no artificial colours or fragrances.
